Imagine a school where each subject, from mathematics to history, has a gaming component. That's the case at Quest to Learn (Q2L), a sixth- through 12th-grade school in New York City. The school opened in 2009, with an emphasis on integrating games into learning, such as a one-trimester gaming experience in which a scientist travels through the human body, a post on Edudemic reports.

In addition to organizing homework, lesson plans, and administrative paperwork all in one place (among other features), Symbaloo allows teachers to create "webmixes" consisting of links and sources for particular subjects and/or topics. For students, it's a useful tool for gathering content for research and maintaining that content in one common area, rather than searching all over the Web. Examples of Uses: Teachers can use Symbaloo to organize websites and databases which are reliable and trustworthy for their students. Teachers can post links to sources of information which they deem credible and useful, thus saving time and energy for their students. Teachers can also review the websites that their students find and share to their own personalized learning spaces.

It allows for its users to take notes in various unique formats, ranging from text, sketching, photos, journaling, graphs, audio, video and my personal favorite: sticky notes that you can actually write on! These notes automatically can sync to every device the user is logged into, and can be shared for real time collaboration within a classroom - perfect for group projects and note sharing. And if a student forgot to write something down, they can take a picture of the board and have the photo scanned into their notes on the app. Examples for Uses: Project collaboration Teacher note sharing amongst all student devices Real time in class collaboration on documents and slides Readings can be instantly shared and annotated via App Students can pick note taking format that best suits their learning needs
